From 50-1205 a Dagnowski (3.6-cm) was used; from 1200-1265 a Livingstone (2.8-cm) was used. The diagram Giannitsa is prepared from the cores Giannitsa A (samples 40-64 in the diagram) and Giannitsa B (samples 1-39 in the diagram); Core Giannitsa B showed no pollen from 55-310 cm; the marly clay below 1210 cm also proved to be sterile.
